Why not a thank you after answer been given?

I am thinking of all the students, often grown-ups if still young, that ask me questions via email, or the blog for that matter, on the subject of how it is to work as an artist & illustrator, or if they mait be my assisten or something else. When they have sent the question and I have taken the time to answer, why not sending, writing a simple thank you? Were are the manors to put it simple. And hey: I am not THAT old myself, but in a way it seem that my generation, born between 1965 and 1975 is the last generations to say “thank you”.
I wonder wy it is like this, becouse who doesnt like to hear a simple “thank you”?

Strange.
