Your images fill up your computer & clogged up? – try Corel CONNECT to clean it

You may not see Corel CONNECT as a sort of CCleaner program do you – neither do I. But what is so nice with a Program like Corel CONNECT, (CorelDRAW Graphics Suite) is that it is so focused on image management, file management and so forth. To enhance your own workflow it actually becomes a perfect cleaning program in simply finding those image files.

In my work as aIllustrator and Graphic Designer, I export illustrations and designs and Photographs to TIFF files, and other image files like JPEG, GIF, PNG and so forth.

Now, to sit and go through folder after folder can be quite time consuming and a tiresome exercise. So I use Corel CONNECT to do it for me – to find the images files I dont longer need as they already been sent to clients to be printed etcetera.

Observe 1) that you may like to unselect the Flickr, istockphoto in the upper left of Connect called “Libraries”, or you will wind up with files searched from those websites as well.

Observe 2) It´s very easy to get exited to delete files, so see to that it is ONLY the file formats in question you like to Delete, and not your original files in format.CDR and .CPT.

  1. Start Corel CONNECT
  2. In Connect search in upper right corner Write Tiff or the file format you search for
  3. In the main PANE window of Corel CONNECT, all folder with the images of the specific file you search from, is found and now easily available to be deleted.
  4. Select all the files
  5. Right Click and Choose “Open Source Location”.
  6. The Folder opens. Now select again, and click DELETE on your keyboard.
  7. All files get sent to Recycle Bin on your Desktop
  8. Go to Desktop Recycle bin and EMPTY the Bin.
  9. Finished!
  10. Now just go and creat some more files 😉
