In my previous post I mentioned the release of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 and a few of the new features. In this post I will try to add a more detailed list of whats new. And if I forget anything I will try to remember to add it to this same thread.


OBSERVE
If you are upgrading from let say CorelDRAW X4 or earlier, then I recomend my detail spec list for CorelDRAW X5. That will give you a super list I would say of most of the new and  enhanced features. And dont foget all the bugs being fixed as well.

– Full support for 64 bit applications!


– Choose between 32 bit and 64 bit.
(This can be important for those with scanners who dont have 64 bit TWAIN drivers. Read a thread about this here: http://stefanlindblad-english.blogspot.se/2011/12/canon-doesnt-create-proper-scanner.html


CorelDRAW X6

– Full support for 64 bit applications!


– Full Open Type Support


– Full support for VBA Macros on 64 bit as well as 32 bit. Some macro producers may have to upgrade their macros to 64 bit, but 64 bit VBA is fully supported.
– POWERCLIP.
Simple a HUGE improvement on the basically all new Powerclip features. This is something for us Powerclip users to cherish again and again. I already love it and it has improve my workflow a great deal to say the least. I loved Powerclip before, it just became so much better.
– Color Styles Docker.
Color Styles in X6 is not the ”old” color Styles. This is something completly new. In Color Styles Docker you will find Color Harmonies with a great drag and drop feature. Check it out as it takes to much time to explain in this list.

Full support for 64 bit applications! 
– Bruish Settings Docker, the Nib preview window is now 3 to 4 times wider. Making it easier to see more brush nibs right away. 
– Full Open Type Support
– Interactive Open Type Indicator (show when open type is available)
– Character Formatting Docker.
This docker is the Text Docker in Photo-Paint. (Object>Text>Character Formatting)
– Smart Carver Tool
– Search Content in Property Bar (Corel Connect)
– Objects Docker. Merge Mode, new ”Pass Through” on Groupe Objects
– Through Beta many legacy and other bugs have been fixed and enhanced quality not mentioned here.
Corel CONNECT
– You can now write a website domain name in the search field to capture all images on the specific page you are visiting. On a page by page basis. You go to one page at a time on the specific website.

  1. Great stuff Stefan! Does this really mean we now have fulland working style sheet support for text? In that case: whew! Quite a relief.

    Foste also mentioned better stability – also badly needed. Did you notice any stability iprovements?

  2. Hej Lars! Ja CorelDRAW och Photo-Paint är troligtvis den stabilaste versionen direkt från start på länge. Och med nya 64 bitars versionen rockar det att arbeta med. Men service pack kommer alltid komma då någon alltid hittar något som missats.

    Style sheet? Vi pratar Styles för grafik och färg bland annat. Ladda ned en 30 dagars testversion och testa nya Color Styles. OBS, det är INTE det gamla color styles, detta är helt nytt.

    Och titta på nya Powerclip, WOW!
