About This Class

This course is 52 minutes long in total, roughly 1 hour, divided into shorter lessons. And for 1 year you can take the course 2/7. Create an account and off you go!

In this class, I will show you how to create a book cover, and a wraparound cover at that, using CorelDRAW Graphics Suite. You can benefit from this class even if you use InDesign by learning the thinking and procedure. But even more of course if you just like myself use CorelDRAW Graphics Suite. From farm to table, from start to final printable PDF. We will look at the art itself, the creation of the actual template, and how to use fonts and text in creating our final layout.

Background to why I mention Skillshare in the introduction video

I originally published my course on Skillshare in 2018, and people liked the course. I removed it from the Skillshare platform in 2023, when Skillshare made changes to its so-called ”Teacher policies”. Official CorelDRAW Master

In 2012, Corel (now called Alludo) made me one of their official CorelDRAW Masters. I have used CorelDRAW and Photo-Paint since 1998 and became one of CorelDRAW Graphic Suite beta testers in 2003 and stayed as such for many years.

Meet the teacher

Hello, I’m Stefan Lindblad, a freelance self employed illustrator and graphic designer based in Stockholm, Sweden. Often known for doing editorial and commercial illustrations and graphic design of books, posters and occasional logotype design. Love creating stuff. (For the CorelDRAW aficionados out there: I´m also an Official CorelDRAW Master).

I work with both pens and papers, (oils and acrylics) and graphic software. The graphics software of choice I use daily, basically, in my work as an illustrator and graphic designer, are CorelDRAW, Corel Photo-Paint, and Corel PAINTER. To create my videos I primarily use either Corel Videostudio or Corel Pinnacle Studio Ultimate. For both Screencapture and video editing. The camera I use is my smartphone.

I decided to be an artist at age 13 while learning to juggle oranges. I had my first art exhibition, oil paintings, at a small but nice art gallery in Old Town (Gamla Stan) Stockholm Sweden. I started my freelance business, self-employed, and never looked back. Through both great years and really bad years, it´s a way of life as well as my highly professional occupation. I love art for art’s sake. It´s my cause in life if you like, my path. I also enjoy and acknowledge the business part of it and learning new things myself and sharing the knowledge. I learn by sharing what I have learned.
