Microsoft released Expression Web 4 license for free!
I started using Dreamweaver from Macromedia, now Adobe, when version 1.0 came out around the year of 1999. And used the newer versions of Dreamweaver as they came out until a few years ago when I went over to Microsoft Expression Web 3 and later web 4. Expression Web 4, and web 3, gave me basically the same tools as Dreamweaver and in combination with Notepadd + + works fine. Even without Notepad + +.
The price played a big role initially when I switched from Dreamweaver. I did not want to pay all those high prices demanded by Adobe for a new full license needed to get the latest Dreamweaver at the time, and I still wanted to have a legal copy, so I glanced and chose, gladly, Microsoft Expression Web, I bought the full legal version for around 1000-1500: – SEK, aproximately 100-140 euros.
And Now Microsoft is releasing Microsoft Expression Web 4 for FREE! Totally GRATIS!
On one hand, I feel sad as the program most probably wont receive updates in the same way, if any, in the future. But I will continue using it happily. Microsoft claim the reason for this to be due to the world of the web future to be Applications.
